Digital Finance

The Chinese Academy of Financial Inclusion (CAFI) conducts systematic research on the role of digital technologies in advancing inclusive finance, focusing on how digitalization can lower barriers to financial services, enhance service efficiency, improve user experience, and expand access for underserved populations.

In recent years, CAFI has published a series of research outputs, including A New Era of Digital Inclusive Finance, Moving Forward amid Challenges: China Digital Inclusive Finance Development Report, and China’s Experience in Digital Inclusive Finance. These studies explore key areas including digital payments, digital lending, fintech platforms, rural digital inclusive finance, and digital ecosystem development.

Meanwhile, CAFI has collaborated with organizations including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Tencent Research Institute, and MYbank to conduct research on topics such as rural account ownership and access, digital payment development, and digital financial services for county-level industries. These efforts have generated policy recommendations and practical case studies.

Through continuous exploration of innovative integration between digital technologies and inclusive finance, CAFI is committed to identifying effective pathways to bridge the “last mile” and even the “last inch” of financial service delivery, providing think tank support for the high-quality development of inclusive finance.
