Impact Investing & Sustainability

The Chinese Academy of Financial Inclusion (CAFI) is committed to advancing China’s sustainable development strategy and conducts forward-looking research and practical exploration on key areas including responsible investment, sustainable finance, green finance, and sustainable rural development. CAFI aims to promoting the effective allocation of financial resources to support coordinated economic, social, and environmental development.

In recent years, CAFI has published a series of research outputs, including Impact Investing: Practices and Prospects — From the Margins to the Mainstream and Advancing Sustainable Rural Development in China through Inclusive Finance. CAFI has proposed the “Three Zero and One More” framework for sustainable rural development and continues to explore pathways for sustainable development with Chinese characteristics.

Meanwhile, leveraging platforms such as the International Forum for China Impact Investing (IFCII), CAFI collaborates with government agencies, international organizations, universities, financial institutions, and enterprises to conduct thematic research, promote international exchange, and advance practical cooperation. CAFI has also deepened partnerships with international organizations including the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), continuously promoting the adoption of responsible investment principles and innovation in sustainable finance practices.

Through these efforts, CAFI contributes its expertise as a think tank to advancing China’s sustainable development strategy and fostering a more inclusive and sustainable financial ecosystem.
