Rural Revitalization

The Chinese Academy of Financial Inclusion (CAFI) aligns closely with China’s rural revitalization strategy and conducts systematic research on key areas including rural financial system development, rural financial reform, digital inclusive finance, financing for rural micro and small enterprises, and sustainable rural development. CAFI is committed to exploring pathways for the high-quality development of rural finance with Chinese characteristics.

In recent years, CAFI has published a series of research outputs, including Rural Finance: China Inclusive Finance Development Report 2023, Digital Inclusive Finance Supporting Rural Revitalization, and Advancing Sustainable Rural Development in China through Inclusive Finance. CAFI has undertaken commissioned research projects from institutions including the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). CAFI has also actively participated in the planning, monitoring and evaluation, and policy research of national and local inclusive finance reform pilot programs, including those in Lankao, Lishui, and Chengdu.

Meanwhile, CAFI continues to promote collaborative innovation among government, industry, academia, and research institutions. Through thematic dialogues and international cooperation on topics such as rural financial reform, digital finance, inclusive insurance, and sustainable rural development, CAFI contributes its expertise as a think tank to strengthening rural financial systems and supporting comprehensive rural revitalization.
